I’m a fan of appreciating the little things, like this feather after a rainstorm at the swamp last week. Now that it’s summer and the pace is slower, I’m finding something summery and fun to do or notice or savor every day. Tonight it was a moonlight dinner/picnic in the yard. Me and my sweetheart and our two cats – no picnic food for the cats but they showed up anyway! What are you doing to savor summer?

Your moonlight dinner/picnic sounds wonderful.
I’m lucky to live near an excellent arboretum. It’s not open during moonlight hours, but it’s a great place for a quiet daytime walk and to appreciate the little things of nature. Something new is blooming every week.

Yay for arboretums, and parks of all kinds! 🙂

Love the raindrops on the feather. Well worth stopping and paying attention. 🙂
Today’s little thing for me was a cluster of orange flowers on a bike trail. The orange popped out at me and I had to stop and admire them for a few minutes.

Were they lilies? I love the orange lilies that grow by the side of the road in the places near where I grew up – you don’t see them in Louisiana, really, so I miss them a bit…
